When and where we meet

The Minnesota Lace Society meets the second Monday of every month beginning promptly at 6:45, P.M., in the Textile Center of Minnesota, 3000 University Avenue SE, Minneapolis, MN (see map). Every meeting starts with a business meeting, followed by a show-and-tell session. Then there is usually a program, such as an introduction to Russian Tape lace, or Irish lace.

There are also special meetings.

  • In the spring we might have a lace exchange. Bring a piece of lace of any type you have made, wrapped, and place it in the basket by the door. When the basket comes around, if you put a piece of lace in, you can then take one out (not your own).
  • We also have a "garage" sale in the spring. Bring any lace-making items you are no longer using to put on the "sale" table.
  • In December we exchange hand-made ornaments and bring tasty holiday goodies to share.
  • There are one or two "retreats" each year. Several of us will get together at a rustic location and lace to our hearts' content. Sometimes there is another group, such as the beading society, the same weekend. That gives us the opportunity to learn about another art (and buy pretty beads).
